Songs for the Apocalypse

Posted: February 19, 2011 in music, pop-culture

A while back I posted a list of eight songs that would be good to listen to as you watch it all burn down.   I have been expanding on this by adding other Apocalypse appropriate songs to a playlist on youtube.

Recently added was….

Three Little Birds by Bob Marley to remind oneself that every little thing is going to be all right. It probably won’t, but sometimes a little self-delusion can be just what the doctor orderd.

Dancing with Myself by Gen X (Billy Idol’s old band) because first Punk just screams apocalypse and also one should be ok with hanging out with themselve after all we know and love is dead.

Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum because it celebrates leaving this world and going on to something else.

Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole because it is awesome.
